all for the game backlog post: thoughts on aaron hating neil

thinking about how everyone portrays aaron as full blown hating neil and like yeah hes mad neil stuck his nose into his business and is hooking up with his brother, but aaron looked upset about neil being hurt in baltimore when neil made it to the hotel room, aaron didnt say anything to the fbi on neils behalf to protect him just like the rest of the foxes, aaron didnt refute nickys claim that itd be a unanimous vote for neil to stay after baltimore, aaron helped matt move the couch for them all to sleep in matt and neils room after baltimore and was part of the sleepover, aaron congratulated neil after learning about ichirous deal because he was glad neil wouldnt be killed, aaron spotted that andrew would fight for neil before neil even knew, aaron let neil move in with andrew (yes, most of it was to keep katelyn away from andrew but he couldve just not brought her to the dorm)
hes mad at neil and will likely hold a grudge for ages, but he still cares. he still cares

#he still cares!!!! #the one that gets me the most is the sleepover #all of them were there that night INCLUDING AARON #and none of them talked about it beforehand!!! they just showed up!!! no one had to talk him into it!!!! #aaron cares about neil even though hes angry #the foxes are a family and that includes aaron and neil being family #and not just because of their shared connection to andrew #i will die on this hill

i've gotten to the point that seeing people in this fandom push the trope that aaron and neil are enemies and hate each other, even jokingly, pisses me off so much. don't boil them down to their argument and turn it into a character trait that's not even accurate. they don't hate each other. they're both assholes, but they aren't out here hating each other. they had a disagreement, they don't always get along, they've gotten under the other's skin, but they still are able to get along well enough to be on the same team and go to columbia together and consider each other family (re: the monsters as family). like they do NOT hate each other, they just disagree and made each other mad about some stuff. that's it. shut up with your dumb trope
