wicked backlog post: fanfic idea

ive been too lazy to actually work on it but i have a wicked fanfic i started after the first movie where years after the ending of part 2, elphie and fiyero end up time traveling to a couple years before the start of the musical

and they rope fiyeros parents into helping them gather a bunch of animal scholars to put together a campaign for animal rights to fight against the wizards propaganda

but their secondary goal is to make sure galinda, nessa, and boq get happy endings this time around so they still go to shiz to meet them all and pull their friend group back together

and with galinda, this involves them trying to pull her into a throuple because they still love her even though shes not the same glinda they left behind (and also they hope to radicalize her so she can grow as a person)

except theyre pretty openly engaged (because they got very excited at the prospect of being able to be together without being in hiding) and galinda is crazy jealous about this because she doesnt understand how a prince can choose elphaba over her, so she tries to steal fiyero away and is completely oblivious to the fact that both of them want to date her equally

so she finally gets close with fiyero, totally not noticing elphaba trying to get close to her too, and at one point is like "i dont want to be the other woman" and it goes like this:

galinda: "i wont be the other woman"

fiyero: "you wouldnt be? elphaba wants you too. wed all be equal"

galinda: "what?"

fiyero: "what?"

anyway if i ever get motivation again id have so much fun with this

#it wasnt originally a thropple fic but it doesnt work any other way and thats totally ok #i also want it to be a recurring thing where fiyero keeps calling her glinda instead of gAlinda and elphaba has to keep correcting him #but galinda still blames elphaba for no reason and completely brushes over fiyero getting her name wrong because of her crush #the more he does it the funnier it gets #the reason he struggles more than elphie is because he spent more time with glinda than she did while she was a fugitive and he was captain #but yeah i think the comedy of galinda thinking shes scheming to steal him from elphaba when both of them are like we NEED her as our third #is so good #shes oblivious #i also think elphie and fiyero make a bunch of inside jokes about witches and scarecrows that confuse her so much #very fun times for them #but i think i should read the book before i finish #so i can include stuff from it to make it better

planning to have the lion cub scene still happen (despite dr dillamond no longer being at shiz because hes busy helping with the Animal rights campaign with the other scholars they gathered) ((they purposely got him away from shiz to try to keep him safe)) except this time galinda also remains awake and shes like Freaking Out because elphabas been hiding her magic this whole time and now shes used her magic on the whole class Except galinda and fiyero and both elphaba and fiyero are like "well? are you coming?" and shes like "is this illegal?? are we breaking the law right now???" but goes along anyway because shes curious and worried about staying with the sleeping class, and elphaba and fiyero are trying to sneakily talk about why the event still happened despite the changes they made, but they dont want to give away the time travel to galinda so its like. very confusing to her because its all vague statements that make no sense to her without context (though i might just make them have the convo in arjiki and shes very offended theyre leaving her out) and she mentions elphabas magic and asks why shes hiding it and is very confused when elphaba is basically like "we dont trust madame morrible and the wizard and theyll try to use my magic for their own gain if they find out" because from her perspective theres literally NO reason not to trust them. but she also agrees to take the fall for the class falling asleep in case anyone looks into it because itll get her in morribles magic classes, and elphaba is encouraging her to learn magic even when galinda has a moment of vulnerability and admits she has no talent for it. like elphaba is 100% confident that galinda will develop a talent for it if she tries hard enough, and it makes her start to see elphaba as more than just a rival for fiyero. the reasoning she gives morrible for why shes not able to replicate the magic is that seeing the cub in the cage distressed her so much that it was just instinct but she has no idea how to do it on purpose, which is why she wants to learn magic. she ends up using her classes to get information out of morrible that helps elphaba and fiyero, but at first shes not even doing it on purpose, shes just complaining about her classes and they notice things she mentions morrible doing and finding the things suspicious. they eventually ask her to do it on purpose and explain how things are suspicious, and she decides to trust them and essentially becomes a spy for them

i also think elphaba tries to give her more helpful magic lessons in private because she knows morribles teachings wont help galinda, and i think elphaba would be a better teacher for her, but i havent decided when galindas magic starts to actually work in this timeline. but it DOES eventually work and galinda is the one invited to meet the wizard this time. dont know where im gonna go from there but yeah

(also they make sure to get brrr to Animals that can help him find a home, instead of leaving him to fend for himself like im assuming happened last time, so that way he grows up to have more confidence)
